Mason had a very strong finish in the Summer Shootout at Lowe's Motor Speedway. His good run vaulted him to 4th in the final point standings. A great feat after the huge disappointment in Week 1 at Lowe's.

MASON WINS THE 2008 AMS THURSDAY THUNDER CHAMPIONSHIP !!!
Mason won the race and the Atlanta Motor Speedway Thursday Thunder Championship. He had a very exciting duel with Kyle Benjamin for the race and the Championship. Mason prevailed for the Championship after having to start the feature 8 consecutive weeks on the 4th row (because he was the points leader for the entire series). Mason finished the 10 race series with 5 Wins and 9 top 3's.

Mason continued to reach his goal of a Top 5 in points after the DQ from Week 1. After this race, he is 8 points from 5th out of 42 drivers with one race to go.

Mason backed up his win at Lowe's last week with another strong run. He started 6th, and took the lead on lap 9. He and his buddy, Kason Plott, raced hard to the finish. A great run for Mason with WIN #2 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

A good, consistent run for Mason as he continues to battle Kyle Benjamin and Evan Bell for the Championship at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Mason gets his redemption. After having two wins at Lowe's taken away in the Summer Shootout (see Race 1 and Race 6), Mason was able to capture the win on an exciting night at Lowe's Motor Speedway. This win was very gratifying to all of us after all the hard work that we had put into the Summer Shootout at Lowe's. Mason never gave up and it finally paid off for him at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Mason drove to the lead with 8 laps to go, and had a great chance to win until a lapped car messed him up.

Make-up race from July 10 rainout. A good run for Mason, and he is still the Championship points leader.

Mason was coming to the checkered flag for his first Summer Shootout win, until he was crashed from behind by the 2nd place car. He ran a great race, and it is a shame that he did not get the win.

Started 13th, Finished 6th.
Make-up race from July 8 rainout. Mason battled a very loose race car, but drove up to a 6th place finish.

Mason had to start 7th in the feature (because he is the points leader), and by the time he got to 3rd in the race the leaders were way ahead. He needed a caution to tighten the field.

Feature - 15th
Mason was racing for 3rd in the feature, and contact with another car sent him to the rear (28th) and he was able to come back to 15th in 5 laps. Mason had a very fast car, but sometimes things happen.

Mason was involved in a accident on lap 1 and got sent to the rear (14th). He never gave up and made a last lap pass to win his 4th consecutive Thursday Thunder race.

had to start the feature 12th and raced into 5th place. Not bad with
such a huge field of cars.

Mason won the heat race and had to start the feature 7th (because he is the point leader). He race from 7th and won the race after a tough battle with Kyle Benjamin. This was very satisfying to Mason after the problems he was put through in Charlotte. Good Job Mason!!

Mason had a very fast race car. Unfortunately he was disqualified after the race for a part that was deemed legal 5 days earlier in Atlanta. We also learned that our tech officials in Atlanta are not provided with all the proper tools they need to tech with by the INEX group in Charlotte. Not the guys fault in Atlanta but Mason has to lose a huge victory at Lowe's Motor Speedway because there are "different tech tools in Charlotte that the guys in Atlanta do not have available to them".

Mason won the heat race and was inverted to 4th. After a tough race, he was able to take the lead with three to go and hold on for the lead.

"The Bad Wreck"
Mason wrecked in the feature and it totally destroyed the race car. Luckily for Mason, he walked away with no injuries.

This was the inaugural Bandolero race at the high banked tack in Tennessee. Mason was fast all day and after starting 4th in the feature, Mason drove to the front and won.

Mason started 11th and finished 2nd in the 20 lap race, which followed the Nationwide Race on Saturday. Unfortunately, Mason got DQ'ed in post race tech because Dad had old, wore out tires on the car. Big Deal, we were still FAST !!!

A Great day for Mason. He won 2 out of 3 races for the day. The bandolero was really fast. Mason and Kyle Plott had a very exciting race in the 2nd feature with 5 lead changes, with Mason making the final pass coming to the white flag.

Final road course race of the year. Thank goodness.
February 11-16 - Orlando Speedworld - Orlando, Fl.
Points Finish - 3rd out of 14 drivers
5 straight days of racing. The car started out good early in the week, but we struggled after a wreck on Wednesday.

Mason and Evan Bell were both fast. They checked out on the entire field.
February 2 - Atlanta Motor Speedway Road Course
Feature - 6th
Road course struggles continue. Dad is struggling on the set-up.

Mason started 9th in the heat race and won. The feature was rained out until March 1, 2008

Winter Series Race #5

Feature - 4th
After a spin-out, Mason came back to finish 4th.
Mason set the track record during the race.
Following the race Mason attended the Atlanta Motor Speedway Thursday Thunder Summer Series Awards Banquet. Mason was awarded the Most Improved Driver of the year. He also received his 3rd Place points trophy for the Summer Series out of 25 drivers, finishing just 4 points out of 1st. Mason also placed 2nd in the Hard Charger Award. This award is given to the driver who passes the most cars in the 10-week series under green flag conditions.
