May 20 "A Evening with Mason Massey and Bill Elliott"

Tuesday May 20 I had a night with Mason Massey and Bill Elliott. It was a fundraiser for me to keep racing. Gumbeauxs Cajun Cafe catered the food. Our special guests were Bill Elliott, Ed Clark, and Rex White. Other guests were two local county policeman. They had a speech as well as Bill Elliott and Ed Clark. I got a gold coin from the policeman. I had my car on display there. We had a great time.

Race on May 16 at Atlanta Motor Speedway

May 17, 2008

Friday night I raced at Atlanta Motor Speedway. We unloaded and had to go draw for my heat race starting position. I drew a one for the heat race. Then I got ready to go out for the hot laps. We were pretty good in the hot laps. I pulled in and my dad loosened the car a little bit. The we got ready for the driver's meeting. After that we got ready for the heat race. I ended up winning the heat race. About an hour later we lined up for the feature race. I started on the pole for the feature with Kyle Benjamin second and Evan Bell third. We took the green flag and I took first with Evan Bell second. I led about six laps and Evan Bell got by me for the lead. I shot down behind Evan Bell. I stayed on his bumper the whole time but couldn't get around him. Good job Evan.

Races on March 28 & 29 at Sunny South Raceway, Mobile, Al.

March 31, 2008

Friday afternoon we loaded up and went to Mobile, Al. We got down there at 4:30. I got ready, then we went out for practice. We were really fast in practice but the car was a little tight. We went out for the second practice and we were better. We got ready for qualifying. I went out last for qualifying. When it was my turn I qualified first. Then later we had the driver's meeting. After we got ready for the heat race. They inverted the whole field, so I started last. On the start of the heat race I quickly jumped to second out of five cars. The next lap I passed for first. I won the heat race. In the feature race I started last again. Again I quickly made my way to first. In about five laps I had a straightaway on them. I won the feature. Then after that we loaded up. Me and my buddy Austin Hill who came to race Legends and won, went to the Waffle House, the only restaurant in town. The next day we got ready to race again. There were only three cars there. We went out for the first practice and we were really, really fast. We didn't go out for the second practice. because we were fast on the first session. Then I qualified on the pole. Then we had a driver's meeting. Then I went out for the feature race. I started second and quickly passed for first. I won the feature. Sunny South is an awesome track. The owner needs people there to race. It is really a fun track.

Races on March 21 Concord Motorsport Park & Saturday March 22 Lanier Speedway

March 24, 2008

Friday we loaded up and went to Concord Motorsport Park in our motor home. We started out in our first practice session a little bit tight. By our second session we were really fast. After the driver meeting we got ready for the heat race. I started second to a local there. We came off turn four and took the green. Going in turn one I drove it in far and beat him into that turn. I ended up winning the heat race. About two hours later I lined up for the feature. I started first in the feature. I got a good start. For about half the race also a local was on my bumper. Dillon Bassett passed him. Dillon Bassett is the defending track champion. With about two laps left Dillon got under me off of turn two and me a Dillon rubbed a little. We were still side by side off of turn four. I almost float footed the corner to beat Dillon. I made a big risk but I got back in front of him. We went around and I ended up winning. It was a very exciting race.

We had a good ride to Lanier Speedway. We got to Lanier on Saturday. Dillon from Concord came also. We were pretty good in practice. In the heat race we started fourth. On the start I got down in third then I passed the second place car. Then I was about to pass for the lead but my sparkplug wire broke. I had to pull in and get it fixed. When I got back out they already took the green flag. I passed two cars, the race was over. After about one hour we lined up for the feature race. I started twelfth. In seven laps I was in fifth. Then we had a caution. Then we took the green. I quickly moved to third. Then with about eight laps left I passed for first. The number double-zero, Kason Plott, caught me. He tried under me once but he didn't get in. Then he tried again and he got passed me with five laps left. Then I quickly got back under him. With two laps left he got back under me and passed me. Coming off turn four, coming to the checkered I got under him. We crossed the finish line side by side. I beat him by less than an inch. It was a really fun race. We drove each other really clean. Good job Kason Plott !!
